I am PRN, which means I schedule my own shifts every scheduling period (which allows me the flexibility to be a sitter as well)! Every scheduling period at RBC, I just have a minimum amount of hours that I am required to schedule, so as long as I meet the minimum, I can schedule as much as I would like or I can just work the minimum, allowing me this flexibility. This has given me experience as a nursing assistant caring for the kiddos on all of their units, including: the cardiac stepdown, the pediatric ICU, the child and adolescent psychiatric unit, their peds med/surg unit, the NICU stepdown, the respiratory floor, the GI/GU floor, & their pediatric hematology/oncology unit!
