I have experience with all age ranges of children but especially infant-12 years as the families I have babysat for the most often have had children in those age ranges including boys and girls. I have Recognition of Excellence Award in Praxis in Biological Sciences and also have experience teaching at a Japanese supplemental school (junior high schoolers). My expertise is in ecological science but can also teach Japanese, basic math, and other sciences to some extent. Hi! I'm a fourth year social work student at OSU! After I graduate in this winter, I plan to attend OSU next summer to get my master in social work. With that master degree, I would like to become a family therapist/school therapist. I’m also CPR certified. Growing up I always enjoyed taking care and being around kids. I'm pretty sure it's because I am the oldest child out of my family. It's also been in my routine to look after and care for younger ones. I love working with children because you never know what to expect from them. It's something new with them every 3 minutes. I love being around young kids because they are not only learning from you but you are learning from them. I have watched kids in many different settings including camps, homes, churches, and schools. With that being said, I have watched/drove many kids of all ages. I have served as an emergency sitter and a labor on call sitter! I was a camp counselor for 5th graders, a kidz kingdom teacher for babies-5 year old, an after school teacher aid for kindergarteners/1st graders, and have babysat for numerous amount of families. Some of my favorite things to do with the kiddos is explore. Exploring can encompass many things ranging from trying new foods, to visiting a museum, to visiting the local parks, zoo, or COSI etc. Kids are always eager to explore and it activity that can help connect and build.
