I have about 15+ years of experience in working with children (yes, I started very young!) and have worked in numerous settings. I know CPR/First Aid, am comfortable with pets, and can do light housework or run errands with the children as needed. I love to engage children in creative tasks that challenge them so that they can learn to estimate risk, make decisions, and become more independent. I believe that children thrive when they are listened to and understood, so much of my caregiving is based on communication and building a healthy relationship with the child and their family. Hey yall! My name is DeLaney and I’ve been working with kids for 8+ years. I have multiple certifications (safe sleep, cpr, etc.). I also work along side a bunch of kids who have special needs and I have been doing that since I was 5. I love working with kids with my whole heart, I currently work in a daycare. My schedule is pretty open other than work. I love taking kids out to do things, spend time outside, or do fun crafts inside. I can work with ages newborn to thirteen, with any sort of needs. I have my own transportation and a license. I would love to meet new families and make connections.

As the eldest sister of five siblings, I grew up with a natural heart to nurture and care for those younger than me. I loved to look after my little brothers and sister and have always taken pride in being a role model for them. My love for children has only grown deeper as I became a reading tutor in college for Pre-K through 6th grade children and then a middle school English teacher for three years after college. I also have experience being a primary babysitter for a dear family I got in contact with in college for over three years now. I began babysitting for them when they had a newborn girl who is now 3, a 4 year old boy who is now 7, and a 2 year old boy who is now 5. It is my deepest joy to look after kids of all ages! I have experience with children from multiple different cultures, and while I am not fluent in Spanish, I can understand a good deal and am able to speak at an elementary / very basic level. I would describe myself as a compassionate, patient, and steady nanny. My experiences managing a wide range of behaviors while being a teacher developed greater patience, communication, de-escalation / emotional regulation, and problem-solving skills within me, which I am proud to bring to the table as a nanny. I am currently interested in being a full time nanny, but I am open to part time nannying as well.
