Hi there, my name is Lhamo, and I am a nanny with over 25 years of experience caring for children, especially infants and toddlers, with many references available. I currently live in the Woodstock neighborhood, in Portland, OR, and I've raised three kids on my own (ages 25 at NYU Grad School, 19 at the U.S. Naval Academy, and 15 years old at an immersion high school), all of whom I also used to take to work with me, and this ultimately has developed them into the mature and intelligent individuals they are today, teaching all of us important lessons. Over the years, I've worked with over 10 families with a wide variety of different ages, though I'm especially experienced in working with toddlers and infants. I enjoy time with kids so much, specially with little ones. I speak Spanish, English and basic French. Also, I am an outdoor person and I really love arts, specially singing! I used to be an AuPair in Beaverton for 1 year and 7 months. I watched three kids: a 10 months-old, a 3.5 years-old and a 5.5 years-old. I was in charge of waking them up, preparing meals, make sure they brush their teeth, preparing baby’s bottle, changing diapers, dropping off and picking up the older ones to school, takings them to the park to play, setting playdates with friends, to the library, potty training, teaching the little one to speak (I used to speak to him Spanish and he understood very well!) and to walk. It was an amazing experience! I left and dedicated myself to my career (I got a bachelors degree in Mass communication) around the world: Mexico, Venezuela and Spain. I just came back to the US and my previous host family received me to stay while I set everything up here. The younger kid is now 7 years-old! Before coming to Beaverton I spent a month in Chicago, since my sister lives there and I took care of 2 siblings: a 3 years old girl and a 8 years old boy. I can give you references and my resume. I got to be a nanny for two adorable girls, Every time I see them , they say I’m the best baby sister they ever had . Darla’s Bio I am originally from Laguna Beach, California! I have 3 brothers and have always been surrounded by kids! I attended college in Eugene, OR to pursue an Early Childhood Development degree. After a year of college, I traveled to Sri Lanka to live locally and volunteer daily at a Special Needs Orphanage. I then followed an opportunity to Spain to be an Au Pair for a family with a daughter with Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy. I had a full time nanny position in Encinitas, CA, from August 2018- August 2019(Ages 4 and 9). I have worked in 3 different Montessori schools since moving to Portland. I am currently a live in nanny with a family I have worked with and loved for 3 years! However, Both children are in full-time school now. So I am looking for a part-time positions. I’ve worked as a camp counselor/teacher with Adventures in Writing for four years, a Lead Teacher with the YMCA for two, and a lead teacher for Innovation Learning for two years. I moved from Ashland, where I was a toddler teacher for two years. After moving from Ashland I became a Lead a Toddler Teacher at an in home daycare for over a year before getting the opportunity to become a Toddler Guide at a Montessori School.
