It is a real pleasure to take care of an infant or a child--there are insights to delight me at any age! I was a teacher at the NYC Department of Education for almost 26 years, and I taught English to students from 7th grade to the senior level, frequently teaching AP English Literature as well as AP English Language. My students were amazing people--curious, intelligent, and hardworking. In terms of certification, I hold permanent English certification in the state of NY, and have earned three degrees: B.A. in Special Honors and Classical Studies, M.A. in English (with a specialty in Creative Writing), and an M.S. in English Education. In each of my courses of study, I have earned honors or have graduated with academic distinction (I have copies of all my transcripts). I had CPR certification in the past, but am scheduled to take a First Aid/CPR for children course on March 13th with the American Red Cross.
