Hi! My name is Alex and I have over 10 years of experience in childcare/nannying, excluding the 5 years I now have as a mama myself! I have worked with newborns all the way until elementary school aged kiddos, including families with 4 children and a set of twins. I have my Bachelors Degree in Health Sciences with a focus in health, fitness, and nutrition and have basic medical understanding. My son will be attending a Co-Op homeschool program on Mondays and Wednesdays in the mornings, so I would be looking for Tuesday and Thursdays at this time, but I do have tremendous amount of flexibility, including afternoons. Since becoming a parent, my friends encouraged me to get back into childcare as it is something I am so passionate about. We all acknowledged how challenging it is to find reliable, safe, and present childcare, and they are the ones that pushed me to get back into the field. I have since been doing in-home childcare. While I know this is not for everyone and respect that, we have had wonderful experiences doing this and have built wonderful friendships along the way. I am happy to provide any reference as well. My most important job is raising kind, thoughtful, happy children, and letting kids be kids and encouraging learning and play. While we do enjoy tv shows and Disney movies, we believe there is a time and a place each day for our screens. We love to do crafts, play board games, color, puzzles, listen to music, and play outside. We also frequent parks and the zoo often, too! We have a ton of educational workbooks we do on downtime, toys galore, a fenced in back yard, a play house, bubbles, and water table, and more. We do have one large but very friendly dog that spends most of his day sleeping. I always aim to be for others the type of person that I'd want watching my kids. I come from a big family growing up with 7 other siblings in the household. I'm the oldest daughter of 5 other siblings. Being the oldest daughter came with a lot of responsibilities. Growing up throughout the years I spent those periods being the surrogate parent to my younger siblings, always being on call for my mother 24/7/365.
