My experience as a childcare worker is extensive. I have been a nanny, babysitter, household assistant, pet-sitter, and caregiver. I have known my whole life that I want to work with kids. I’ve spent many years babysitting children ages 1 to 10, and I also work with elementary students ages 5 to 13 through the HOST after-school program, helping with homework, leading fun activities, preparing snacks, and keeping kids safe. I have about a year of formal experience with HOST. While I typically lead a group of 16 kids, I am most comfortable caring for up to 6 at a time on my own. I’m friendly, reliable, and love using games, puzzles, and educational apps to keep kids engaged. I respect household rules and will always communicate in the way that works best for you. I recently graduated high school with a focus in Early Childhood Education and earned some college credits along the way. I am now a freshman at Robert Morris University, majoring in Psychology. I know some ASL, am CPR and First Aid certified, have my own car, and I’m great with pets. I a currently only looking for a summer position. I used to work as a correctional officer and before that I was a direct support professional where I took care of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities but I’m looking for a side job. I have reliable transportation as well as I car, I have diabetes training, I have my child abuse clearance, as well as the other clearances and I have first aid training. In the past I have also worked in daycares. The jobs I’ve had have mainly been where I’m taking care of people. I love working in the fields I have because I know that I am actually helping people who are in need of it. I’m not a super outgoing person until I establish a relationship with the individuals I am working with. Everyone will tell you I have a big heart, I’m kind, I’m hardworking, and that my biggest strength is caring for others. To me when you are working with individuals, especially children, you’re not just some there to be there. You’re an important role in their life. You’re there to help them grow and learn. You should be their role model if you’re going to work a job like this. Kids notice the way you act, they pick up on the words you say, etc. and I feel as though you should need to be a person that can show them how to have the upmost respect for others so they aren’t being taught the wrong thing.

I am currently working the weekend program as a Certified Nurses Assistant! I was a nanny 3 years for a sweet 3 month baby girl for a judge and lawyer in Pittsburgh and quit when she was 3 years old as they moved to Florida! She was a bright girl that I taught her colors, shapes, numbers, words, talking and We went to the park, playground, walks and played games, hide n go seek built blocks, colored, started writing and doing anything else she wanted to play!
