Hello my name is Deb and I have always loved taking care of children. I started babysitting at a young age and have continued to do so over the years. I have an associate degree in Elementary Ed. My background consists of many years in the medical field as a Medical Assistant. I worked in a level one trauma center emergency room for eleven years. I left there to work in a pediatric office. I worked nine years in the pediatric office. I have been away from that job since 2013. In December 2019 I switched gears and started working in a daycare/preschool. While there I worked with different ages from infants to school age children. Most recently I had been working in the infant room where I tended to three months old through twelve months old. I really enjoyed my time there and became close with the infants. Since I have been a young girl my career goal has always been to work with children in one capacity or another. I am a very nurturing person, my family and friends have always trusted me to take care of their children. In 2018 I watched my husband’s cousin’s baby who at the time was two years old. I watched him several days a week for up to ten hours a day while his parents worked. I continued to babysit him up until December of 2019, when I had to take a full time job. My names Cherise and I am 28 years old. I'm originally from England but came to America to be an au pair and was living with a wonderful family and their three kids for 2 whole years. The youngest being 3 months when I started with them, it was definitely hard to say goodbye. Unfortunately my time with them ended but now I'm lucky enough to continue living in America with my husband so I can visit them whenever I want to. I am currently a nanny for a wonderful family and have been with them for a year and a half, looking after 2 children (1&3) who will be needing less hours in the coming months. Before I came to America, I successfully completed my qualification in early childcare education and I then went on to work in a daycare for 2 years. This means I have lots of experience with kids from 3 months to 6 years. Babies being my absolute favourite age, watching them grow and learn and change so much is incredibly rewarding. During this time that I have worked with children, I have set up activities with the kids that help engage them as well as develop their skills and confidence. What works for one child might not work for another so getting to know the child is important and helps create a special bond. I have also taken first aid courses whilst I was in the daycare and while preparing to be an au pair so I am comfortable with first aid in children, even babies. I'm a happy, caring and reliable person and I love spending time with children I'd also consider myself a creative person, painting, baking cookies, making stuff with the children or just singing and dancing around with them. I may not be the best at drawing or dancing, but I still enjoy getting involved and joining in with them anyway.
