I have worked with autistic children for 9 years.  I have run a summer reading and arts/craft program for 9 years also.  I enjoy interacting with children, doesn't matter if they are small or teenagers.  I love to keep them active and not sitting in front of a tv everyday.  I enjoy being outside and inside depending on the weather.  I love to cook and bake and make the kids be part of the fun.  I enjoy playing cards, reading books, blowing bubbles in the wind.  I enjoy children. I live in Pennsylvania as a caregiver. I move to Florida for a few months during the winter to escape the snow. Looking to help you out for a few months.

I've taken care of children and infants for decades. The amazing thing about children, at any age, is how dynamic they are. It is a real pleasure to take care of an infant or a child--there are insights to delight me at any age! I was a teacher at the NYC Department of Education for almost 26 years, and I taught English to students from 7th grade to the senior level, frequently teaching AP English Literature as well as AP English Language. My students were amazing people--curious, intelligent, and hardworking. In terms of certification, I hold permanent English certification in the state of NY, and have earned three degrees: B.A. in Special Honors and Classical Studies, M.A. in English (with a specialty in Creative Writing), and an M.S. in English Education. In each of my courses of study, I have earned honors or have graduated with academic distinction (I have copies of all my transcripts). I had CPR certification in the past, but am scheduled to take a First Aid/CPR for children course on March 13th with the American Red Cross.
