I regularly babysit for local families and also help care for my younger siblings and cousins, including children with autism and ADHD, so I’m very comfortable adapting to different needs and personalities. I’m studying elementary education and graduating a year early, with a focus on special education. I’ve taken multiple courses in child development and have strong skills in communication, patience, and problem-solving. I worked in a local childcare facility part-time for about 3 years. I was a teachers aide in the infant room. I attended continuing education classes in early childhood development and earned some certificates. I am trained in first aid and CPR. I have also worked at a before/after school program (2014-2015 school year) at a local elementary school as an assistant supervisor. I cared for two children in their home, but sadly this came to an end last August because they both started preschool. I have been with this family since July of 2012. We play, read and always have lots of fun. We also go outside and take walks if the weather cooperates. I prepare simple lunches for them and get the little girl down for a nap. I clean up any messes we make and also help out with the family's laundry. In addition, I occasionally take care of their two dogs when they go out of town. Hi, my name is Alexandria, I am a 20 year old female who has always had a passion for working with children. I have been an Aunt since I was 7 years old, so I've always been around children and helped my mom with babysitting all the children. I did volunteer for vacation bible school for one week two summers in a row, the first year I helped with the preschool age group, and the second year I helped with the older age group. I also volunteered for multiple different preschools and day cares for the preschool age group. One of the preschools that I volunteered at every child was somewhere on the autism spectrum, most of them where non verbal, but some of the children could talk. I experienced with all age groups. I work really good with children, and they get attached to me really quickly. I can cook, do laundry, dishes, and more. The only thing is that I might not be able to get my licence, due to a few health issues that I am trying to get figured out and do what I have to do.
