I was the step mother figure for two amazing children for 7 years, one of which I assisted with adhering to a strict diet and medicinal regimen due to epilepsy. I was also a foster parent for a young boy and adolescent girl a few years back. I have been a peer facilitator at the College of Charleston, teaching a class of incoming teaching fellows freshmen, a student teacher for a honea path elementary 2nd grade class, and a coach/volunteer for the special Olympics. I was selected as who's who among American high school students, junior leadership of Anderson, teaching fellows scholarship recipient, LIFE scholar recipient, runner up in the Miss BHP pageant as well as nominated Miss Congeniality. I have a huge heart, and once I form a bond with someone, I am extremely loyal and dedicated. I can assist you with overnight care, and have first aid and for training. I was a babysitter for my neighbors kids, ages 7-10, and was a teen volunteer where I helped a teacher keep track and organize about 20+ children for5 hours a week. I am going to school to be an elementary school teacher because of how much I enjoy not only teaching children and learning from them. They are so much more capable than some give them credit for. I would really love to get more experience being around kids and getting to build a mutual respect with them. I am CPR trained from high school and have a SLED check as well as my PPD testing completed.
