Hey my name is Chelsea Hedrick. I am 22 years old and I have my associates degree and now searching for a nanny job for the summertime. In college I have taken a child education class and a psychology class dealing with different age groups, one being children and why they act the way they do. Ever since I was about 13 years old I started babysitting my neighbors toddler. He was around 2 or 3 when I started babysitting him and now he’s in fourth grade. Last year my cousins had a baby and needed to get back to work so I babysat their 3 week old baby for a couple of months. Those were my only paid jobs, but growing up my parents always hung out around parents with children and I always played with the children.

I have almost 9 years of experience as a trained babysitter with first aid and CPR certification but have been an older sister for 20 years and have always taken care of my 3 younger siblings. With all of that experience, I’ve learned to be patient and calm and be able to create a safe environment for children in order for them to feel safe, understood, and trusted. I am energetic and can be creative and love helping out with arts and crafts and doing fun things with kids. I am flexible and can adapt to plan changes and work well under pressure while still being organized and paying attention to important details. I am willing to do meal prep and do some light cooking and help around the house with things such as laundry and cleaning. I am bilingual, speaking fluent english and spanish. I’d love to also help with any homework or remote learning and can tutor if needed.

For pre-school and elementary age children, I use age-appropriate activities, learning kits, musical instruments, and educational apps (ABCMouse, Khan Academy Kids, Teach Your Monster) to support cognitive, motor, and social-emotional development. I believe in limited screen time and engaging children creatively—mind, body, and spirit. For older children, I’m an excellent parental proxy. I use positive reinforcement to build character and am equally adept at coaching deficits. I’m a frequent-flyer at libraries, dance academies, dojos, gyms, courts, fields, music studios and school pickup lines. Safety is always a priority: I drive a highly rated Subaru Outback and employ Britax car seats. I curate an upbeat, kid-friendly playlist to make car time fun.
