Hello! I'm Taryn, a 21-year-old senior at Lincoln Memorial University with an exercise science major and a psychology minor. I'm on a pre-doctoral track for occupational therapy, and my dream is to be a pediatric occupational therapist. I'm trying to find a part—or full-time nanny job for this summer, and I'm always open to babysitting on an as-needed basis. With 8+ years of babysitting experience, I've worked at an after-school daycare program, as full-time nanny the past few summers, and as a regular babysitter for local families during the school year. My experience spans from infants to 6th graders, including children with special needs including autism, non-verbal communication, and a range of behavioral challenges. I have a unique perspective on special needs care due to my close relationship with my 10 year old brother. He was fostered and adopted as a newborn and is currently diagnosed with intermittent explosive disorder, ADHD, and a generalized anxiety disorder. With trauma and drug exposure in utero he was diagnosed with intermittent explosive disorder and ADHD. I prioritize creating a positive, nurturing environment for every child in my care. I grew up in a big family with 7 sisters. Being one of the oldest, taking care of kids has always been in my life. From babysitting for friends and my community, to managing a kid's cooking studio, I have gathered a lot of experience. I have babysat for children as young as 6 months and as old as 16. The cooking studio gave me opportunities to teach kids life skills while giving parents free time to take a break and relax. I currently am a licensed RBT working with kids with autism and have been enjoying aspects of the field but I would love to have a more personal experience and help make an impact on a family. The training I went through to gain this certification has given me the ability to identify functions of behavior and the tools to deal with them in the best individualized way for each child. I will be renewing my CPR and First Aid certification as of 4/16/26 in order to get a refresher on those skills in my repertoire. On a more personal note, I am a very organized mind that operates off of lists and schedules while maintaining a fun and enjoyable environment. I would love to help teach children life skills and emotional regulation while also taking things off of parents' plates so they can connect more with their families. Extensive experience as a caregiver both in the home and church setting. Children in numbers up to 10 in a church setting and 4 in a home setting from the ages of 6 months to 16 years. Babysitting was my source of income throughout high school, and has always been something that I have enjoyed. I enjoy reading and supplementing the education they are already receiving with books, music, and fun engaging activities.
