Care bio Hello! Let me tell you a little about myself. My husband, our 5 year old daughter, pets and I live in middle TN. We enjoy being active outside, hiking, making music and doing yoga. We are a rescue family and volunteer with a local dog rescue, pet sit and have rescues of our own. I have been working with children, as a nanny and a teacher, for over 19 years. I grew up teaching Sunday school and VBS then began babysitting in 5th grade. In 2008, I began my journey as a nanny. In 2012, I began teaching preschool. In 2016, I started teaching piano lessons. Teaching and working with children is my passion. I am trained in various teaching styles and tailor my approach to each child’s specific needs. Montessori, Reggio Emilia and Waldorf teaching styles are my favorites. I am CPR / First Aid / AED certified. I have a safe, reliable car. I am new to Nashville, but am loving it as a city! I recently graduated from Bentley University in May of 2013. I have been babysitting since I was about 13 for my three cousins. Their ages now range from 6-16 but I have been taking care of the two younger ones since they were born. Last summer,I took care of three children in Westborough, Massachusetts for five months. The twins were 6 and the older daughter was 8. This was full-time during the summer and after school once school started. We would go for trips to the local parks and playgrounds, spend some afternoons at the library, and have "tutor time" once a week with the twins when their sister had her reading tutor come by. I personally think it greatly helped them as they were just starting kindergarten and already had a huge head start in writing and math.

I am a dependable, caring, and patient caregiver with experience working with children in both healthcare and childcare settings. I am CPR certified and have one year of experience caring for pediatric patients as a CNA, which has given me the ability to remain calm, attentive, and compassionate while meeting children’s individual needs. In addition to my healthcare experience, I have volunteered in my church nursery, where I have cared for infants and young children in a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment. I genuinely enjoy helping children learn, play, and grow while providing families with reliable, trustworthy care. I am currently pursuing my degree in Elementary Education, with my classes offered online and in the evenings. This provides me with a flexible schedule that allows me to fully commit to a nanny position while continuing my education. My long-term goal of becoming an elementary school teacher reflects my passion for working with children and helping them learn and succeed. I am also happy to assist with light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, and running errands to help make busy family life a little easier. As a dog owner with two German Shepherds, I am very comfortable around pets and happy to care for families with dogs.
