My grandmother was the director of the First United Methodist Nursey School in Santa Monica, California where I would spend days playing and reading to children starting at the age of 13. I nannied for 6 month old twins in the summer of my junior year of high school and for two older children full time the following summer. In college I worked at Greenlake After School Program in Seattle as a teaching assistant for ages 5-12 years my junior and senior years. I have been certified in first aid and CPR numerous times and can provide references upon request. Put simply, I love being around children! They are such a joy and I find happiness in helping provide a safe and nurturing environment for them to learn and grow. I have experience working with children who have special needs including autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit disorder, and physical limitations. I raised my own child who has ADHD and high-functioning autism, in addition to being an auntie to a niece who has autism and cerebral palsy and a nephew who has Aspergers.
