I have had experience with providing care with children from infants to 8 years old of age. I have worked in a Christian Private school as a caregiver and Assistance Director for the school. Children just need guidance and to know they are loved. All it takes is for one person to guide them in the right direction. When I left my position to go work for the county, I had a lot of families leave the facility as I no longer was going to working there. Also, till this day, I have families reach out to me to give me updates on the little ones, and means a lot, to know that my children felt loved as well as the parents knew how much they were loved.

I love working with kids! I work as a Registered Behavior Technician where I work with kids that have autism. Before that, I was an assistant PE coach working with kids in grades PK-5. Before that, I was a librarian and worked with high school kids that came to the library. I have two dogs, so I can work with families that have pets! I’m also CPR and First Aid/AED certified! I also have a black belt in martial arts.

My name is Makenna, but most of my kiddos call me “Miss Kenna.” I absolutely love being a sitter because I enjoy building real connections with children and watching them grow, learn, and feel safe and happy in their environment. There’s nothing better than seeing a child smile, gain confidence, or learn something new knowing you were part of that moment. I have experience working in a daycare setting, where I primarily care for toddlers. This has given me hands-on experience with routines, potty training, managing multiple children at once, and creating a fun but structured environment. I’ve also done babysitting and pet sitting, which has helped me become very responsible, dependable, and flexible with different family needs. I’m patient, nurturing, and attentive, and I always try to meet each child where they are. I'm currently a student at the University of Houston-Downtown planning to graduate in 2023 with a major in psychology. I currently attend college in person from 8-1 pm Monday - Thursday so an ideal job would be picking up the kiddos from school helping them with homework/ activities and giving them dinner while preparing them for bed. I consider myself a very creative and athletic person. In my free time I enjoy traveling a lot I go on mission trips with my church ministry for weekends up to 2 weeks but most likely it is just for a weekend. I am currently in search for a nanny summer job that carries out into the fall. I am willing to travel with the family for the summer with the flexibility of a week or two to attend a mission trip during the summer. I have relevant experience working with children age 3 and up. At my current job I supervise kids from pk3 through 8th grade.
