Growing up, my mother worked professionally as the Director of an esteemed child development center near the U of U. This meant that from a young age I spent much of my after-school free time at my mom's work, playing with the kids and helping teachers in their classrooms. At 12, I started babysitting for a handful of families and have continued to care for those children, as well as some new families, as they've grown older. Not only have they entrusted me with their children, but on many occasions I have cared for their houses and pets in times of need. It's been a joy getting to know these children and their parents, and an honor to be a part of their journey so far. I began volunteering part-time at a child development center at 14 and started formally working there when I turned 16. I have now worked there a total of 5 years, moving to full-time during summers and year-round after high school.
