I am looking for a family with active kids, full of energy, and that is ready to have a great time! Parents that wish their kids could be more active and outdoors are also welcome. :) (I also enjoy indoor activities, though!) I believe as much as kids can stay outside, playing, and distracted, the better, so they don't get bored or start missing their parents. I love to be out with kids, playground, pool, playing sports, riding a bike, chalking, playing tag, hide and seek, and enjoying the nice weather - if possible! Ps: If your kids like to learn new things, and some Portuguese (I'm from Brazil), I will be more than happy to teach them!

Emy was fabulous with our 5yo daughter and 2.5yo son! We used Emy when we traveling in DC for a weekend. She was a recommendation from a mom friend. Before arriving, she asked about their likes and dislikes. When she came, she had library books with their favorite characters and activities prepared that I mentioned they enjoyed. She is also proactive in figuring out how to make my life easier. She offered to take the kids to the park when I needed to pack for our trip back. She sent me pictures of them at the playground, having a picnic, etc. She is a great communicator. I would highly recommend her!

Hi! I have 5 siblings, and a pet chinchilla 😊 Moved from Upstate New York to Virginia recently! Cared for children with special needs under AIMS for about 2 years. Volunteered at a Sunday/Friday Private School for the past four years. I can work immediately. Full time, part time; you name it! Available weekdays and weekends, 8 am till overnight if needed. Can be flexible with timings. I am CPR certified. I know how to use an EpiPen. Won’t be able to do pick up/drop off. $35-$40 an hour would be ideal. Open to negotiations!

I have worked in preschools and with individual families receiving cpr and first aid training and extensive knowledge in child development. In each setting I was able to develop long term relationships with families with children from ages 12wks to 12years. I am strongly focused on making sure children have the best early childhood experiences because these moments really do shape their lives. I have been called a chameleon many times because I am able to use what I have learned and apply it directly to a child's specific needs. It is very important to me that children feel loved, happy, safe and confident in themselves. Through lots of messy crafts, silly songs, fun games and reading your child will grow past your expectations.

Terita was a big help with my kids especially being that I needed her help last minute. My daughter is at the age where she tells it all and she loved Ms. Terita. She will be a great fit if you have busy kids. I will definitely book her again if I ever need a sitter.

Hello! My name is Rhonda, and I am a Virginia native with a genuine passion for caring for children and supporting families. As the oldest of six girls, nurturing others has always been a natural part of who I am. After transitioning from a career in finance, I followed my heart into childcare, and it has been one of the most rewarding decisions of my life. For more than 16 years, I have had the privilege of caring for children of all ages—from newborns and infants to school-aged children—including those with special needs. Throughout my career, I have worked with private families and nanny agencies as a Professional Nanny, Household Manager, ROTA Nanny, Night Nanny, and in the role of a Newborn Care Specialist, building lasting relationships founded on trust, reliability, discretion, flexibility, and compassionate care. What I value most about being a nanny is the opportunity to build meaningful, lasting connections with the children and families I serve. Whether working in a traditional nanny role, providing overnight newborn care, or supporting families on a ROTA schedule, I strive to provide consistency, stability, and seamless care that allows children to thrive. While safety is always my highest priority, I believe children flourish when they feel loved, understood, encouraged, and supported. My goal is to create a nurturing environment where children feel safe, confident, and free to explore the world around them. My caregiving style is Montessori-inspired, encouraging independence, self-confidence, hands-on learning, and age-appropriate exploration. I enjoy creating engaging learning experiences through everyday activities while supporting each child’s natural curiosity, emotional well-being, and developmental milestones. Compassion and service have always been deeply rooted in my family. My parents dedicated more than 45 years to caregiving, teaching my siblings and me the importance of kindness, patience, integrity, and treating every person with dignity and respect. Those values continue to guide the care I provide every day. When I’m not caring for children, I enjoy spending quality time with my three granddaughters, reading, walking, dancing, volunteering in my community. A long-term position with a wonderful family where we can build a strong partnership based on trust, open communication, and mutual respect is my desire.

Ms. Rhonda has been an incredible support to our family. Her help with overnight care allowed me to get the rest I needed so I could show up as the best mom possible for my child. She is caring, attentive, and truly thoughtful in the way she provides care. Knowing my baby was in such capable and compassionate hands gave me complete peace of mind. I am deeply grateful for her and highly recommend her.

Hello Parents, I am a 35 years old and have been working with children since I was 14. I have experience as a nanny, house manager, personal assistant, babysitter, house sitter and pet sitter. I am the oldest of six children and have experience with special needs, food and drug allergies. I specialize in infants and toddlers and take a special interest in children with anxiety. I have worked for several families long term as well as on call, part time, and date nights. My favorite thing about watching children is watching them grow, learn and discover new and great things about the world around them. I believe that routine is very important when it comes to raising children and having a regular caregiver that knows them, their habits, their likes and dislikes makes a huge difference! I am comfortable with homework help, drop off and pick up, taking children to activities as well as inventing activities, potty training, feeding, cooking, cleaning, laundry and more. In addition to this I am also featured on the Sittercity activities blog! I very much look forward to hearing from you!

We were SO lucky to have Susy as our son’s caregiver! From the moment we met her we knew she was going to be a perfect fit for our family and the best caregiver to our 5-month old son. Susy is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to caregiving of all ages of children. For example, we worked together to develop a daily schedule and routine for our son, and she was able to get him to actually become a good sleeper, which is huge! As he grew older, she worked to adjust his schedule accordingly, which was so helpful to have as a first time mom. If he ever got sick, she knew what symptoms to look out for and how to properly treat him. Basically, from the start she was able to read him and know what his needs were. Again, as first time parents that gave us such a sense of relief, knowing he was in the best hands! She is incredibly polite, professional, compassionate and kind. She is also so friendly and easy to get along with and adapts well to change, which is appreciated. I work from home most of the week and she was always considerate of my time and respectful of my space; I never felt disturbed or distracted during my work day. During her time with us, Susy’s daily tasks included feeding milk/food, diaper changing, cleaning bottles/dishes/pump parts and washing, folding and putting away laundry and changing crib sheets. She also took our son on daily long stroller walks and in general made sure to give him plenty of outside time, as weather permitted. She played with him (I always loved hearing his big belly laughs!), read books, sang to him, listened to music and engaged in age appropriate learning and sensory activities with him. She spoke in both English as well as Spanish, and he even learned some basic Spanish words! She taught our little boy so much, and he always had so much fun with her every day! All in all, we could not have been happier with Susy! We would have kept her on with us but wanted our son to eventually start going to daycare. Susy knew this from the start and worked to get him ready for that environment; she even got him synced up with his future daycare’s schedule in order to make his transition as smooth as possible (and it did!). Anyone would be so incredibly lucky to have Susy as their child’s caregiver. We are so grateful for EVERYTHING she did for our son and for our family, and we truly consider her a friend. We cannot sing her praises enough!

Hello, Thank you for checking out my profile. I am a caring, attentive, and communicative caregiver and have been providing childcare with a handful of different families since the fall of 2019, with children whose ages range from seven months old to ten years old. My last nannying position was one year long, with a sweet and energetic boy who was 10 months old when I started. My responsibilities have included providing and maintaining safe play environments, preparing and serving meals, engaging with open play and developmental activities, changing diapers and clothes, providing transportation to extracurricular activities, providing gentle guidance and support. Outside of childcare, I enjoy simple activities like being outdoors, spending time with friends, and making art. I am open to chatting over the phone to talk further and look forward to hearing from you! Kind Regards, Violet

Carisa watched our daughter Grace for close to 3 months and we are so grateful to have found her. She is a wonderful person with a lot of experience with all ages (infant-elementary), with a niche in newborn and infant care. We needed coverage for a temporary period that we were not able to provide care for Grace and had interviewed some people for this assignment - Carisa stood out as the most reliable and trustworthy of everyone we spoke with: she openly provided references, she was transparent throughout the whole interview process and was very flexible in meeting with us beforehand and getting to know Grace prior to officially starting with us. This was an early cue about her integrity and quality of character. Once she began, it was apparent she had a unique ability to hone her skillset to both Grace's needs and our wishes and goals for Grace's growth and care. When Carisa started with us, Grace was not really on a set schedule and we were only able to get Grace to successfully fall and stay asleep in her swing or in the bassinet in our bedroom. Within her first week of starting with Grace, Carisa was able to get her on a schedule and taking naps in devoted sleeping areas in our living room as well as Grace's nursery. We also struggled during Grace's first weeks of life to take a bottle smoothly (she had some latch issues and a possible small tongue tie) and were nervous about having someone else feed Grace, but Carisa was able to get Grace to have big feeds with a great latch on the bottle. This took a load of stress of our shoulders! But most importantly, we are grateful for the genuine love Carisa gave Grace, which showed in how quickly Grace took to Carisa. Towards the end of our time with Carisa we really started to feel like she was our family. We will miss Carisa dearly and hope we will be able to work with her again - she is a special one!
