Hello, my name is Liv Kappel! I am new to the area, as of 12/1/24, due to my boyfriend getting a job and us relocating from Cincinnati. I lived in Cincinnati my whole life and attended Xavier University, where I studied early childhood education and special education. I graduated from Xavier in May of '24 and began working full time for a family who has three children. I took care of a 14 year old who has down syndrome, a 2 year old, and a newborn. Once I got the two oldest children off to daycare/school, I would spend majority of the day with the infant. I helped with sleeping training and established/maintained a routine for the newborn that aligned with the parents goals. While the infant was asleep, I did anything from laundry (including fold and put away), meal prep, ran errands, organization and whatever else the family needed help with. Prior to working for this family, I babysat for all ages throughout college and high school. While in highschool, I worked with students who had autism, down syndrome and cerebral palsy. I was also a swim instructor, working with kids of all abilities from ages 4 months- 12 years. Thing's I love to do while babysitting include getting the kids outside, going on field trips, playing games while trying to sneak in some educational fun, and planning a fun movie night on a rainy day. Whenever the kids are taking a nap, I try to get any household chores done and always clean up after any mess the children make while I am present. I have a reliable source of transportation, I am CPR/first aid certified, and have very good references!
