Hi there! My name is Ashley. I am 33 years old and have been working with children for over 10+ years. At this time I’m looking to be a back up nanny for a couple families. I know there comes a time when childcare falls through especially in the winter months and i’d love to make it easier for you! I’m available any day of the week and any hours, also willing to have them last minute. We love having children over to play :) Children are my passion and I really enjoy being with them. I love to watch them grow and help them along the way. Outside activities and arts/crafts are my favorite way of teaching. Also, some of the fun things we enjoy doing are: going for walks in the morning to see all the farm animals in our neighborhood, library for story time and reading, open gym at the indoor gymnastics, going to the public pool/ splash park, picking fruit and baking, and fun days at the park. I love keeping children active and having fun. I'm married and have 3 children (years 8,7,1). We live in Kennewick/ Finley area with a large lot and plenty of space to play! I have also volunteered at a daycare in the infant and toddlers department for a child development course. I have watched children for multiple families ages newborn to 13, all with great references of me for you! I have experience with changing diapers, bottle feeding, ill children, preparing meals, driving kids to school/activities, and homework help. I believe that structure is important, along with child growth (mentally/physically), and of course, love and affection. She started to read kindergarten sight words and basic sentence frames, recognized numbers 1-10, could count and match them with one to one correspondence, and write her first name. I mainly focus on the ABCs, numbers, shapes, fine motor skills, and how to write their first names. To train for this, I attended classes in college for Early Childhood Development. Taking these courses allows me to have an opportunity to recognize their growth. My mom is a ten yeared K-8 teacher with two Masters degrees. Everything I do with kids: I got from her, professional learning sites, and college coursework. To make sure I had the needed experiences, I also interned in her classroom for more than 3 years, while I was in college. I have experience with kids through gymnastics coaching and in my church I teach the kids between the ages of 4-7. I love hanging out with kids and I find that they just make every day brighter. I also have lots of experience babysitting my own siblings and cousins throughout my life.
