Hello future family, My Name is Annika, and I am a bubbly 29 year-old who lives in Woodbury, MN with my husband Nate, and our sweet goofball of a dog, Kota. We both love art and the outdoors, music and movies, and kids, although we don’t have our own (yet). Consider me your “modern Mary Poppins,” as I enjoy structure and continuous learning, but through adventure and play! I started my childcare career in fifth grade as a babysitter and continued doing so throughout the years. My love for kids (since I was a baby) came from my mom who was an in-home daycare provider for 10 years, and believed children learn best through having fun. Why do you love being a sitter? I’ve always loved being around kids and helping take care of them. My most applicable experience would be from when I worked at a summer Bible camp. I was a counselor responsible for 18+ kids in my cabin. That position included: caring for their needs (physical and emotional), keeping them on schedule, providing entertainment, ensuring their safety and more. This was a very joyful time in my life and I will use the skills I learned from that position for whatever childcare position I find next.
