I am currently a sophomore at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, studying Psychology and Youth Studies. I will be home for the summer, near Madison. I am the oldest sibling to two younger siblings, so I have been exposed to kids at a very young age and love spending time with them! My mom is also a director of a childcare program and I have been volunteering with them when they need the extra help! I am available starting at the end of May to mid-August, and would be available M-T 7:30-5:30, and F 7:30-3:30. I am willing to work occasional weekends as well. I am comfortable driving kids to local activities and would always want to make sure the parents are comfortable before taking them somewhere.

I love working with children and helping them grow and learn. Learning through playing as well as through creative activities and reading is important. I have three boys, was a high school English teacher, did in-home daycare and have worked as a special education assistant most recently. I think that the most important part of being a nanny is to remember how children are soaking up everything around them. Birth to five are the most crucial years in a child’s life in my opinion. So making sure that I am making a concerted effort to model desired behavior and to help children grow socially and emotionally while working on beginning literacy and math skills is essential. I love reading to children and working on their emerging literacy and math skills through play and fun activities. I’m very active and enjoy helping kids become active through things like going for walks, going to parks and playing outdoors. Hi there! My name is Marissa McPherson and I’m a 21 year old senior at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, where I am studying Criminal Justice and minoring in Psychology (graduating May 2026).
