First and foremost I am an extreme animal lover! I love all types of animals and I am not afraid of any size, breed or species. I have worked in the animal welfare field since I was 15, I started volunteering with the Greater Birmingham Humane Society at 15, and joined the staff at age 16. I was employed with them for 5 years and just recently started nursing school and had to resign. The job was amazing and I loved every minute of it, I did a ton of different things within the company. I was an animal care technician for the first two years of my career and an adoption counselor for the remaining three. With both positions there was a ton of hands on work with animals and I learned a plethora of things. I have experience in every aspect of the animal field. I have had training on animal behavior and trained shelter animals on basic mannerism. I am very knowledgeable of animal illnesses and I am extremely comfortable medicating and treating ill animals. I have tons of experience walking and socializing all breeds, sizes, energy and behavioral levels of dogs. I have experience with basic grooming and nail trimmings in all animals. I love cats (but let's be honest there really is no appeasing them, you just have to do as they tell you and hope they love you in return). I am very reliable and I have a ton of coworker references.
