Before having children I use to do alot of pet sitting , house sitting or check in visits with the owners pets and homes. Whatever the my clients needed,; either picking up everyday mail, pulling trash cans out and in, distributing any medications for their pets (that I felt comfotable doing) sometimes I was asked to stay overnight in the home. I did this from 1998 until about 2006. At that time I was able to stay in the home with the pets and give care.
