Katherine’s Bio
Why I Love Working with Dogs:
I love working with dogs because I truly enjoy spending quality time with a companion who depends on me. There's something very meaningful about caring for an animal that trusts you. Being there for a dog, meeting its needs, and forming that bond makes every day feel fulfilling.
My Experience with Dogs:
While I don’t have formal work experience with dogs, I’ve spent most of my life around them. I grew up in a household with five dogs, and I was responsible for their daily care like feeding, walking, bathing, brushing, giving medications, and of course, playing and bonding with them. I’ve also taken care of a friend’s Doberman for 10 days, providing her with regular walks (twice a day for an hour), feeding her, giving her attention, and maintaining her routine. These experiences taught me a lot about consistency, patience, and understanding dog behavior.
Skills and Training:
I’m confident in caring for a dog’s basic needs such as feeding, basic grooming, walking, and providing affection and stimulation. While I’m not a trainer, I can reinforce existing training routines and follow specific instructions closely. I’m also comfortable administering oral and topical medications, and I always make sure to pay attention to any changes in behavior or health that may need to be addressed.
