I am a young 63 year old who surrounds her life with animals. After retiring I began volunteering with different areas. I began volunteering with SPCA dog walking, bathing and socializing for better adoptions. I also volunteered with CASA, ( Court Appointed Special Advocate ) for foster children. I volunteered with the local Senior Center ( Meals on Wheels ) for 3 years. I recently moved to NIpomo from the Central Valley and currently volunteering with the Santa Maria Humane Society, as well as a dog walker for my neighborhood. I have always owned a dog and feel an importance for children to grow up with a dog or at least some type of animal. My last 6 dogs were all rescues, A Golden Retriever, Large Yellow Lab, Cocker Spaniel, 3 loving terriers mix. Currently I have a 11 year old Pomeranian rescue and a 14 year old terrier mix who is a euthanasia rescue.
I belong to several rescue groups supporting their cause of finding homes, spay & neutering for reducing the pet population of homeless dogs and cats. My heart is with dogs and all the unconditional love they give. Yet, I love all animals and can take care of all of them. No education or prior history of caring for reptiles tho.
