I Love animals. My daughter used to work at Petco and would call me when people would just drop their pets there, instead of the pound, or if she found dogs in need of rescue. I would take them in and attempt to find their owners, putting up posters and posting online. No animal should have to be put to sleep simply because a human could not care for them. Currently, I have two feral kitties that were at the flea market for sale. Litter mates (Bengal x Tiger). I could not let someone buy them to be an experiment or worse. So I bought them for $10.00. (Mutt & Jeff) have grown to be awesome cats. I have had Parrots, an aviary full of Finches, Rabbits that people discard after Easter, and Horses.
At my age, I never thought of myself as a Nanny or Babysitter. However, I love babies and little kids. I myself have GrandTwins (boy & Girl) who are 7, and a 16 year old Granddaughter. They are so curious with wild eye wonder. I love to teach them new things and explain different ways to think about everything as answers to their questions. I have a lot of life experiences. I am very active and I think able to contribute to their physical, psychological, and emotional health. So I feel I am qualified and would make an excellent companion to any animals or children in my care. My downfall is math. Being from the old school, I can count back change, but not do problems beyond add, subtract, multiply and divide. It was my worst subject in school and I don't mind admitting it. I have a car and own my own home which is completely fenced in. I was involved with a program in the Bay Area for troubled teens called "Friends for Youth". I became a big sister to a young pregnant girl and won an award for my participation. I live in Tuolumne and any position I take would need to be within the area as far as Angels Camp to Jamestown
or North of Tuolumne.
