It may not be the most logical career transition, but I'm a work-at-home writer who needs some additional income and I know it would be much more rewarding to care for other people's animals than to punch a clock at a 9 to 5 office job. My past pet-sitting experience consists of random apartment and pet-sitting gigs over the years; 20+ years as mother to my own darling baby girls (Lily and Gracie) and taking care of the 3 cats of my dear friends and co-workers (all with significant medical and special care issues). I also take care of the family Shih Tzu when I'm visiting down in Florida. I became truly "certified" in the most crucial and life-changing way when my 5-year- old Gracie landed in the Blue Pearl Vet Hospital last April for 4 days with a diagnosis of congestive heart failure and HCM (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.) This devastated me along with the prognosis that she might not get out of the hospital, let alone live more than 6 months. (We're at 9 months and counting) Once I took her home I began an extremely time consuming, expensive and regimented protocol (inspired by hours of online research) consisting of administering multiple pill medications and supplementations each day, monitoring her breathing and so forth. In the course of this care I've also learned how to give shots when necessary and would be able to do this for your babies as well.

Additionally, my other career of 15 years working as an executive assistant at Showtime, gave me lots of experience in taking care of others, down to the most minute personal detail. I am a detail freak and conscientious to a fault, so if you give me instructions, you can be assured I will follow them to the letter and call or text to ask questions about anything I am not sure of. Schedule permitted, i will also spend more time with your babies than the time I'm being paid for and I'll be glad to send you pics and videos of our time together to help reassure you that everything is A-Ok at home.
