Probably the most important assets I have found in doing this type of work is my attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and general sense of responsibility. Often owners will have very specific care instructions when it comes to both their private homes and their beloved pets. It is vitally important to strictly adhere to these instructions, asking questions whenever necessary to clarify their individual wants and needs, and to not make assumptions or use one's own judgement to override their desires without properly communicating these intentions.

I love animals, and I love to help people; and my background in a professional environment as a programmer et al has demonstrated time and time again the importance of rules, specifications and boundaries.
