Jacquelin’s Bio
I have always had an empathetic and caring personality. Dogs have always held a special place in my heart! I love all animals, but especially dogs. I grew up with a boxer and he was my best friend! It all started there.
I have been dog-sitting my neighbors dogs for 7 years. She goes out of town frequently. I check on her two dogs 3 times a day, get her mail, water her flowers, clean up the dogs’ messes, play with them, and obviously give them food and water (and treats).
Before my aunt and uncle’s dog passed away, I regularly dog-sat their black lab. I made sure she had food and water (per their schedule for her). I would take her on walks, give her medicine when she reached her old age, and enjoyed each other’s company.
I love dog-sitting! I love brightening the dog’s day, giving them attention and love. I am very responsible, punctual, and trustworthy. I follow the owner’s directions for how they would like the dog’s care handled.
In my caretaking experience, I worked as a program assistant at a school for nonverbal autistic individuals from 2015-2017. In order to be hired at the school (ACCESS Academy, Newburgh, IN), I went through extensive training.
During my time at ACCESS Academy, I regularly did in-home care taking for some of the students after school, or as a babysitter so the parents could have a night out.
I was hired and flown out to Phoenix, AZ from my home in Newburgh, IN to be a caretaker/companion for two nonverbal autistic siblings. I lived in their guest house and worked with the children for the month of June in 2018.
I take care of a family friend’s uncle, whom is under her primary care. He is 90 years old and has been schizophrenic his entire life. When my family friend and her husband need a weekend away, I go to their home and stay the weekend with the uncle, make sure he takes his medications, help him make food, and keep him company.
