I was in 4-H dog for 8 years with my two dogs. I also helped train the new kids just starting dog training.
In 4-H we train in 4 different classes. Showmanship, Obedience, Rally and agility. We also split by age and by skill of the dog so everyone gets trained evenly for their skill level. With my second dog I got up to the third highest level and would have continued if I didn't age out of 4-H.
I loved helping train the younger kids and dogs, it gave me more experience than just doing my own dog. I learned about all different breeds of dogs. I learned how many different ways dogs like to be trained and how to execute those styles of training. Throughout my years in 4-H I learned a lot and still continue to train my dog to this day as well as some of my friends dogs.
