Growing up in a large family (I am the youngest of 7 siblings) our family over the years had so many pets, from cats, dogs, birds, rabbits, even a Kinkajou which looked a lot like a monkey but he was so smart he knew how to open his cage every night and roam not only around our home but on occasion would even sneak over to the neighbors home to curl up with her in bed. Many a night we would get a frantic call in the middle of the night from the neighbor screaming at our mom or stepdad to come get him. Anyway, as I am sure most pet lovers would agree, as we get older our love and desire to protect and care for our pets has, at least in my opinion changed the way that most of the world looks at pets, they are just as dear as our family and we want to protect them and give them all the love and care we do and would do for our children. So I cannot even begin to explain how much I absolutely love animals and I must admit I have special love for the underdog, rescue pets are in my eyes are so very precious and also I have come to love so much particularly those dog breeds that have become targets in society as evil or bad breeds and have just been given a bad reputation. I honestly feel that no animal bad, it’s their owners that train them to be mean, aggressive and uncontrollable animals. Breeds such as Pit-bulls, Rottweilers, German Shepherds, etc. Bottom line is I love animals and I love working with them and caring for them.
Which leads me to caring for other people’s pets, for the last 5+ years I have had the pleasure of caring for the pets of a person that I started out caring for her mother as a PCA and I often would also care for her pets while her and her husband went out once in a while (she at the time had 4 dogs, 6-7 cats. In the beginning it started out as simply feed them all a short time after my arrival, then I would take each of the dogs and let them out into the back yard to go to the bathroom, then she began to allow me to also take one of the dogs home to my house over night for a few days (the chosen Dog was the sweetest and most lovable Boston Terrier/Pit-Bull mix who just wanted to love everyone he met and be loved by everyone as well) so of course when I would take him home my husband and I would love having him, because like I said he was so lovable, we would end up spoiling him rotten to the point that whenever I would take him back home, the moment I would get up to leave and he heard my car keys jingle go nuts to go w/me always!
