Laura’s Bio
I have always had a love of animals and grew up surrounded by them. As a child/teenager, I had dogs, cats, fish, and even a pony. My pet sitting career began as a teenager when I would care for our neighbor's cat and tropical fish while they were away on vacation. In my 20's, I worked at a veterinary hospital and would pet/house sit on occasion for some of the clients. In 1987, I began a career with the US Postal Service, but continued my pet sitting on the side. I was promoted to Postmaster of a small town and on my lunch hour began regularly walking and exercising some of my working customer's dogs. Word spread and I would often provide pet care and pet/house sitting services to others in town and the surrounding areas. After retiring from the Post Office with 20 years of service, I worked part-time on a special needs school bus. With a flexible schedule and summers off, I was still able to do my pet sitting and dog walking jobs. After six years on the bus, I decided to pursue my love of animals on a full time basis. My family includes a husband, 2 adult sons, 3 Labrador Retrievers, 2 cats, 4 parrots, a small flock of chickens, and an aquatic pond complete with fish, frogs, and turtles. I also have raised dairy goats in the past. I am honest, dependable, kind, and detail oriented. I have experience in feeding, administering medications, walking, exercising, swimming, grooming, waste removal, and the general overall care of animals. I will keep your pets safe, shower them with love and attention, and treat them as if they were my own.

Laura exceeded every expectation! She is very organized, detail oriented & takes care of your pet as if they were her own. She sent me daily updates and pictures of my dog & it really allowed me to enjoy my time away. She got my mail, scooped poop, trimmed nails, and even shoveled patio for the dog during bad weather! This was my first experience using a service like this and I am beyond excited I found someone so amazing I can rely on if I ever want or need to take a trip again. I highly, highly recommend Laura for any of your pet'store needs! :)

Thank you for responding to my needs ad so quickly. You single handily turned a very stressful event into not a worry. You allowed me to get back to my job of taking care of people because you took care of my cat. SPIRIT had a blocked bladder, which can kill them very quickly and he was uncomfortable so I was beside myself as to how I was going to get him medical care because I could not be absent from work. You arrived very quickly and I felt that you were reliable and trustworthy and that gave me peace of mind when handing over my cat to you. I appreciate you getting him safely to the vet in a timely manner. It meant so much to me and it eased my mind. I highly recommend Laura for taking care of your pets. We went out of town for two weeks and she made me feel very comfortable about leaving my two spoiled Labs. They had never been left alone overnight before. Laura came to the house three times a day. She fed my fish and dogs. She let them outside, played with them, cleaned up after them, and loved on them. She also brought in mail and watered plants. Laura sent me detailed texts along with pictures each day. I'm happy to have found a trustworthy and sweet person to help me out and I will be using her again. She's one in a million!
Laura was very reliable, dependable and detail oriented in taking care of my cat (drop-in visits). She even made an emergency visit on very short notice. After each visit, Laura left a written log and she also emailed me a daily update and a daily pic of my cat letting me know that my cat was okay and describing the cat's behaviors / activities and the tasks performed for my cat and home (ex. feeding, litter scooping, etc.). She also checked on my home and collected the mail and newspapers while I was away. I highly recommend Laura for future pet sitting jobs.
