I have been cat sitting locally for around 8 years for several of my friends who have cats. They range from seniors who need daily meds and special diets, to baby kittens who were still being bottle fed every 2 hours.

I always make sure I know the animals routines, do a meet and greet with the family, have emergency contacts (other friends and family in the area, vet contacts etc), and clarify what is expected out of me and what exactly I can provide.

I’ve dealt with cats who hid and ran from me for years until he finally warmed up to me (he actually snuggles on the couch with me now!!!!), to cats who took to me right away! Regardless, I will be respectful of your cats needs and wants, give them space when they need it, and give them lots of attention and love when they ask!

Also, expect daily pictures of your precious babies and daily updates even when we’ve done nothing all day! For me personally, I feel much better seeing my animals regularly when I’m away, so I make sure I do it for the people I work for.
