Cathy’s Bio
I'm a 63 yo, married female. No actual pet sitting experience but I have had dogs of various sizes and breeds (I have 2 right now) and I added cats to my "to love" list 30 years ago. All of my fur babies have been altered. A couple of my cats (I have 5) have been declawed. None of my cats go outdoors ever. I have a lot of experience with special needs pets (insulin injections, sub-q IVs, physical therapy, seizure disorders, birth defects, etc). Our bedroom has often been the intensive care unit for when something has happened to one of them. All of my current pets are rescues. Right now my dogs only get rabies and leptospirosis vaccines. Leptospirosis is contagious to people through saliva. My dogs never leave the backyard and are house dogs. My cats always get rabies vaccines in case someone visits and should get bitten. I however, he been to urgent care 5 times for cellulitis from cat bites. I have been hospitalized for 4 days for cellulitis and septis from a cat bite. But, I still love my kitties and my dogs. To me pets are family. We don't spank our pets. We scold them and use a "bad can" if they misbehave. A bad can is an empty can with a few pennies in it and a lid put on. We shake it a couple times and they immediately stop the behavior. I felt very confident in the care I give them, and oh, my neighbor thinks I should be a vet. I even own a book on animal diseases written by the Mercy Company, a pharmaceutical company. We currently have one dog with congestive heart failure and a torn ligament on medicine. The other dog has anxiety issues and takes medicine. One cat takes nerve pain medication for an injured hind quarters and one cat is on a special diet for an undetermined intestinal problem. So as you can tell, I have a lot of experience with pets. And last but not least, we recently adopted a bunny who is thankfully healthy. My vet information can be provided if necessary.
No fleas or ticks please.
