After our in person interview, she agreed to meet the children that night, and my youngest instantly fell in love! She started the following day with pick up and drop off of my oldest to school and worked for us for 3-4 days, with no concerns or complaints. On 1/23, she left our house to play soccer and ‪around midnight‬ I received a text that she broke her ankle and wouldn’t be able to pick the children up after school. I scrambled to secure child care and pick up as I was already at work when I seen the message. My 2 year old cried when Cheyenne didn’t pick her up from school and my 5 yr old was tearful when he found out she wasn’t going to be able to take them to the park and for ice cream the following day, as promised. She expected to be out for 4-6 weeks due to the injury, and although this put us in a tough spot, as I just started a new job,  I was willing to hold her job as my kids had already created a bond.  Unfortunately last week she posted two videos to her social media account, one showing her sitting on the floor with no injuries and the other was a live video of her at her soccer game. During the live video she talked about how she was playing soccer that night and slightly injured her knee, but that it was nothing serious and she was ending the video to finish playing. I still gave her the benefit of the doubt and asked her about the posts, versus immediately terminating her, as any other employer or corporation would have done. She replied the videos were “old” and were for her business (which I was unaware of). Apparently she was “confused,” by me questioning the videos and decided she would no longer watch my children. So not only have I wasted time waiting on her to return, but I have missed out on other potential sitters who applied for the position. She is great when she is there, I’m just not sure about her dedication.
