I was first asked by a friend to house-sit for her while she was working out of state for two months. While she was away, I had another friend ask for me to house-sit, and "babysit" her dog. Luckily the two houses were within a block of each other so I was able to stay in the house with her dog while still checking on the other house.
Two months later, I stayed with another friend's three dogs (two Boxers and a Lab) in their house for a week. After that week, my friend left to work out of state again. This time she left her cat and I stayed for one month.
I have no training or certifications, but I am an animal lover and have been around them all of my life. My family bred Dobermans when I was young so I don't shy away from stereotyped animals. Right now, I have a dog and a cat. I also regularly take care of my parents' animals: a horse, two sheep, a rabbit, chickens, and two dogs.
