Growing up in the Bay Area, I was lucky to call a regional park my backyard and would spend hours playing outside and exploring with my family, including our two dogs. When I was first born my parents simultaneously adopted a chocolate labrador, who we named Sally. Sally and I grew up together; sharing an ice cream cone (sorry mom), running in the park, and "dressing up". When I was 4 years old, we saved a cat (Siam) from an animal shelter, and when I was 9, we adopted a black labrador, who we named Lucy. I have always been in a home with cats and dogs (and for a while we had chickens and goldfish!). I understand not only the logistical care pets require; walking them, picking up their poop, cleaning cat boxes and so forth, but also the emotional care that a pet deserves.

Sally passed when she was 13, Siam recently died at an unknown age (although we like to joke he was a very wise old man), and Lucy is still going strong at the young age of 11. This past fall we adopted two kittens, and could not be happier! For me, a pet is part of the family. They are what make home, home. When I pet sit, I hold myself to the highest standard, and will treat your pets as if they were my own.
