My name is Taylor, I'm 27 years old and from Des Moines, Iowa. I am highly motivated and dependable, with Mid-Western morals :) I grew up with many different kinds of pets: fish, gerbils, mice, hamsters, parakeets, turtles, rabbits, cats, dogs, horses, etc. and have absolutely LOVED animals since I was a little girl (to the extent of becoming vegetarian at 13). I have worked doing some wildlife rescue which involved rehabilitating orphaned or injured birds. My partner and I often take dogs out for hikes when traveling from local rescues so they can get out and enjoy nature, at least for a few hours! I currently have a sphynx cat and a live planted aquarium and really wish I could get a dog but walking/sitting will have to do for now. I have a close friend whom I walk/sit for who has a large Jindo rescue and another friend who has a senior Dachshund with anxiety, so I have experience with large and small dogs as well as varying behaviors. I grew up with Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and have worked with Labs, Great Danes, Pit Bulls, Chihuahuas, Terriers, Golden Retrievers etc.

DOG WALKS/SITTING
I have a fenced backyard in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, so I have a safe place for your dog to play in case you need them to stay with me overnight or would like me to take them to an enclosed private environment to get some exercise. I'm very comfortable with dogs of any size or personality and I do have a baby gate and private entrance to separate your dog from my cat if cats are an issue for them. I have a very flexible schedule so I am home or available most days and I could also do an overnight in your home if that would make your pet more comfortable - whatever works best for you. I will gladly send photos and updates as I know how important it is to be assured that your pet is well taken care of and happy!

TRAINING/BEHAVIOR
I am not a certified dog trainer but am well-versed in the basics and believe that violence or physical discipline is never an option. Positive affirmations and treat incentives are the best way to ease an animal into trained behaviors or get them comfortable with new environments or people. I have experience with rescues and dogs with anxiety, but it's important that you let me know behavioral issues so I can provide a plan that meets specific needs.
