I’m a professional award winning artist & designer working in a number of creative industries. I have a degree from Parsons and The Traphagen school of fashion, also attending FIT and have been a textile designer, have done costume and set construction, shoe design and construction and bridal, and designed a line of shoe related greeting cards and small gifts which was licensed for several years. I’ve had my own private sandal making classes in my art studio and have taught arts & crafts classes for The Carter Center programs for the Elderly in Brooklyn. At the end of one of the classes the group made me dolls, presents and though most lived on a meager standard, scraped together $10.00 to give me as a thank you! I’ve never been so touched! I have a great love for beauty and the arts of any kind, thus try to take advantage of living in NYC. For much of my career I’ve freelanced so I could pursue other interests and to be available for pet care and community work for the homeless. All of these creative opportunities can leave one fatigued , so I do takes breaks every so often to avoid total burnout. Thus a desire now to do something with people or with pets. I’ve had many animals myself and have done a lot of pet sitting and fallen in love with the cats and dogs. Unfortunately, many have ended with the passing of the animal or the pet parents moving away. The owners have written many letters of recommendation if & when you need them. Good health, mentally & physically is very important to me and since I’m a good cook and want to eat well I make myself dinner nearly every evening. When I had more time, I was a member of a running club and ran three NYC marathons. I’ve been told I have a very kind heart and a compassion nature so I have the desire to help those in need; both people and animals. Because I have a good sense of humor and patience I’m good with children and they feel comfortable with me. I’ve worked retail sales for the holidays at Bergdorff Goodman and Takashimaya where I sold a $10,000.00 chandelier my first week.
