I currently have two cats and two dogs of my own and have had many other pets in the past (including regular and exotic caged pets). I have worked for The Calm Companion and PetSmart, but I have also volunteered with dog/cat animal rescues and done multiple pet sitting/house sitting jobs.

With the animal rescues, I volunteered at the shelter and at rescue locations, fostered cats and dogs, and assisted at spay and neuter clinics. Throughout my time volunteering, I gained some vet care experience that allows me to handle minor incidents that sometimes occur with pets (ear mites, minor cuts, eye irritations, etc). During this time I also ran the entire rescue of over one hundred cats, for two weeks, while the owner went to Hawaii.

I have watched friends’ animals (cats, dogs, and caged/tank pets) while they were away. I have also been paid to do some pet care for others. One was for a few days where I stopped in twice a day to care for their one elderly dog, that had some specific medical needs. Another was where I stayed in the client’s house for three weeks, caring for their two dogs (administering daily medications, bathing, light grooming, and regular outside time). While doing these pet care jobs, my clients can leave with the assurance that their pets are in good and caring hands. I also try to contact the pet parents as little or as much as they would like. I can send photo updates as often as requested.
