Between two family dogs and getting my own Golden Retriever mix at fifteen, many years of my life have been spent around these wonderful beings. I am a true dog lover and don’t see them as just pets but rather part of the family, entities with their own personalities, thoughts, feelings and quirks.

Dogs have always been a sense of comfort to me. Their presence soothes and makes worries seem less burdensome. Their antics always bring a smile. The unconditional love & unfailing, instantaneous forgiveness they offer is both humbling and heartwarming.

I believe dogs are a wonderful gift to us all. They are able to bring great joy and comfort to people, provide excellent companionship and enrich our lives simply by being in them.

I've gained experience in training my Golden. Also, I have watched my stepmom train her dogs, gaining wonderful ideas & information and new ways of teaching from her as well.

Along with caring for my own dogs, I volunteered at the Animal Protective League in Springfield, IL while attending the U of I-S. I also based a college project on their operation.

I am comfortable overseeing exercise and playtime for multiple dogs. I feed high quality food. Giving medications (and ensuring that they're actually swallowed) doesn't daunt me. For several years now I have even brushed my dog's teeth nightly (not his favorite part of the day but accomplished nonetheless).

If you trust me with the care of your dog/s, I promise to treat them with the same care & respect I give my own canine family members.

Also, I am very familiar with cats, personally, professionally and through volunteer work; some exposure to ferrets and other small animals.
