I've had at least one dog, either mine exclusively, or a family dog since I was 4 years old and have had cats for pets nearly as often. I currently have one sweet kitty who is nearly 2 years old. I started pet sitting for neighbors when I was 7 and for my grandma's MANY dogs and cats when I turned 16.
