Growing up in farm environments and having farm animals all my life has taught me a lot about their care. It is important (to me) that animals are treated with respect and cared for beyond simply setting out their food and giving a pat on the head, by spending time and time playing with them, grooming and understanding their individual personalities helps them have a life besides being there. They can’t do many things for themselves so the interaction and experience they get from a person matters.
