I have had pets my whole life and volunteered at a vet clinic for many summers.

My own pets: I have owned cats, dogs (larger breeds), a rabbit, hamsters, gerbils, toads, and fish. Currently, my family has 3 labs, a German short-haired pointer, 2 cats, and fish.

Volunteering: In high school, I spent my summers volunteering at a veterinary clinic in my mother's town, where I gained tons of experience caring for pets. Some of my responsibilities included supervising animals as they woke up from surgeries, cleaning cages and litter trays, caring for boarded animals and adoptable animals, and comforting animals during checkups and in the waiting room.
