Patty’s Bio
We just moved to Myrtle Beach this past September but for the last four years in Fort Mill I was the "Dog Sitter" of the neighborhood. I had at least 12 regular clients. Usually they would stay with me when their owners went out of town- parents always knew I gave their kiddos plenty of affection and exercise when they returned.
I also occasionally would check in on cats, a sugar glider, a bearded dragon and a gerbil.
I used to have cats, dogs and chickens (I called them my lap chickens- they loved affection) years ago and as I grew older I realized I grew far to attached to my pets to experience the loss when the time came- so I have found loving another persons pet gives me the connection to animals that I need.
A dog needs to be fully house trained to stay with us- since we bought all new furniture when we moved, they can no longer snuggle on the couch with me in the evening (well you never know- unless they are not allowed to at home) but they can sleep on my bed at night if they prefer.
My fee is $20 up to 12 hours (which would include at least two short walks (around the block) and one medium walk (20-40min) (and probably another pee break or two) and $35 up to 24. For a 24 hour period a dog will get a minimum of 3 short walks (around the block) 1 medium walk (15-20 min) and one long walk (30-75 min. depending on the weather and type of dog.) And usually another step out side or two for a quick pee.
I give plenty of affection and exercise- I will treat your pet as if it was mine. I believe pets especially dogs are great teachers in our lives and I respect the role they play. One of my clients back in Fort MIll had diabetes and I would check on him every day at noon and administer his shots and meds as needed. I can give a slight discount if you have multiple dogs. And I find it easier to watch a pet from my home-(and I believe they love the extra attention) that is why is usually is much cheaper to just let them stay with me.
