Jettie’s Bio
Hi! My name is Jettie, and I’m a dedicated animal lover currently pursuing my Bachelor of Science in Animal Science with a concentration in Pre-Veterinary Medicine at the University of Tennessee. I plan to become a veterinarian, and I’m passionate about providing the highest level of care to every animal I meet.
I love working with pets because they each have their own personalities, and building trust with them is incredibly rewarding. Whether it’s helping a nervous pet feel safe or keeping an energetic one engaged, I truly enjoy making sure animals are happy, healthy, and comfortable.
I have several years of hands-on experience in veterinary medicine. I’ve worked as both a kennel assistant and veterinary assistant in a full-service animal hospital, where I cared for boarding pets and assisted with surgeries, treatments, and diagnostics. I’ve monitored anesthesia, administered medications, taken vital signs, and helped with everything from routine checkups to emergency care.
In addition, I’ve worked in a university endocrinology lab handling and processing blood samples, and I’ve participated in research involving cattle health. I’ve also completed internships at Zoo Knoxville, where I cared for a wide variety of animals including red pandas, reptiles, birds, and small mammals, and at an animal chiropractic clinic working with both small and large animals.
I’ve even volunteered internationally, providing basic veterinary care in rural Guatemala, assisting with spay/neuter surgeries, and helping animals recover safely.
My skills include:
• Administering medications and basic treatments
• Monitoring animal health and behavior
• Experience with a wide range of species (dogs, cats, exotics, livestock)
• Calm handling of anxious or post-surgery pets
• Strong communication with pet owners
Your pets will be in safe, knowledgeable, and caring hands with me. I treat every animal like my own and always prioritize their comfort, safety, and well-being.
