I come from a home with a lot of pets! I love animals and respect them like my own family members.
I have two fur babies: the older is an 8 year old shih-tzu and my baby is a pitbull mix that just had his first birthday. The shih-tzu was a solo dog for the majority of his life and had a history of aggressiveness with strangers and other animals. However, he has since learned to cooperate and even enjoy the company of puppy pals and new human friends. He also had a history of extremely picky eating and starving himself which we have worked on and is no longer an issue!
My pitbull mix is a rescue. I found him on the side of the road as a very small puppy, starving and injured. After medical attention and tons of love, he is now a happy, healthy and hefty boy! We took him through beginner and intermediate training at PetSmart to ensure he stayed obedient, gentle, and friendly as he got bigger. Those months of training were incredibly beneficial for him and for us as pet owners. I still have all of my educational material from those classes and use the information often to keep my dogs well behaved.
I have always had cats and currently have a fluffy 10 year old maine coon.
I also have a 3 year old Bearded Dragon. I have cared for him his whole life and we are great friends. He is socialized and loves to be held. I am familiar with the requirements for maintaining their habitats and comfortable feeding/handling many reptiles, including snakes.
We are also a fish family! We have a large aquarium that we maintain with a variety of little swimmers.
I have no pet allergies.
