I grew up on a small farm in Michigan, competed in 4H competitions, and have experience training medical support dogs (epilepsy, cardiac, etc.), along with just an overall love for pets.

In addition to caring for farm animals, my own and family members pets throughout the years, I have pet sat/walked dogs from pugs to St. Bernard’s and retired police dogs (German shepherds). In fact, a two week pet sit turned into an 8 month sit during COVID (owner got stuck overseas due to embassy shutdowns when traveling back to US).

My own buddy passed away 2 years ago now. We would clock in nearly 40 miles a week together. So needless to say, I LOVE walking and hiking with dogs if your dog(s) is/are able, but I am also perfectly happy to provide more sedentary love and care.
-- NOTE: I do not charge extra for taking your dog on local trails versus suburban walks. I do not even charge for drive time to trails (given that they are less than 10 minutes away and you have paid for at least an hour of walking time).

I am professionally trained to administer medication via all routes to animals as small as a mouse and as large as a horse. I am actually a research scientist (PhD) but the startup I was working for moved to Florida, so I am in-between jobs at the moment.
-- NOTE: My masters degree was in behavioral analysis which two main focusses are 1) child development; 2) animal behavior/training - both scientifically guided by decades of meticulous quantitative research (think B.F. Skinner and Ivan Pavlov).
--> Therefor, I am skilled at tuning into your pets behavior and providing feedback/support/reinforcement to the pet that is in the best interest of you and/or your pet. -- That being said, my #1 priority is following your explicit instruction unless you specifically state otherwise.
Additionally, I am available to train your dog(s) and provide written training plans.

I have house “minded” and “lived-in” various types of homes/experiences through "trustedhousesitter" and client referrals. Most often house sits involve tending to animals, watering plants, yard duties, stocking fridge/pantry, and similar caretaking activities.
