My name is Cassandra, I'm 40 years old and I'd like to think my love of animals started with my first babysitter, a German Sheppard named "Duchess." I've lived my whole life surrounded by dogs, cats, birds, lizards, rabbits, rats, mice, snakes and fish. As of this moment, I live with 3 cats, one snake, a husband and a rambunctious 5 year-old. Two of our kitties were adopted while we were living in California; and after a year of living in Washington we adopted another little kitty, a spunky black Manx who fit in perfectly with our little family. My pet snake is a black & white California king snake, I've had for over 10 years now. He is such a gentle snake he's managed to cure a few people of their snake phobias.
I adore animals which is one of many reasons as to why I'm currently attending WSU in the hopes of one day becoming a veterinarian. It's exceptionally challenging and very competitive. As I work towards this degree I try to take any job I can find that will help me understand animals better.
For about 8 years I volunteered at various animal rescue shelters in California, including working with feral cats. I've walked dogs for friends and taken care of their cats for over 10 years. I started walking dogs professionally about 6 years ago when I began attending college full-time. I absolutely love it. Recently my schedule has opened up a bit and I'm looking to find a few more furry, scaled or feathered friends to get to know, which is why I'm looking into pet sitting jobs.
My pay is very flexible. I'm looking more for experience than anything. I'm very dedicated and responsible. The safety and well-being of the animal comes before my own and is my top priority. I can also make a long term commitment. If I'm hired to walk someone's dog or pet sit and the animals like me, I would like to continue working with them. I would also ask that I be allowed to meet the pet I'd be caring for before anyone considered hiring me. I want to make sure your pet is comfortable with me and that we are a good fit.
